Virtual Assistant vs. Employee

A Virtual Assistant (VA) is a professional who works from their home office (generally) for another business under W-9. We are also known as Independent Contractors or Consultants.  Virtual Assistants come with different niches. Some have an Administrative background or are Website or Graphic Designers.  There really is no end to what a VA can specialize in.

Many businesses rely on Virtual Assistants to take on little tasks so they can focus on the important items. This is generally clerical work, responding to emails, posting blogs, interacting with clients, etc.

  • There’s no such thing as paid downtime because a VA invoices only for the exact time spent working on your projects and supporting your business.
  • There’s no need to supply a VA with a computer or other expensive office equipment because a VA operates a fully functional home office.
  • A VA handles its own taxes and benefits. There is no additional cost to you beyond the actual rate at which you contract your virtual service provider.

With a Virtual Assistant, you’re cutting overhead and increasing productivity because a VA works for you only if and when you require it. And, because a Virtual Assistant is skilled at providing virtual administrative services there is no training period, so you have more time for your own clients.

If you are not sure if a Virtual Assistant is right for you, there are some wonderful resources throughout the web that can help with that decision – and of course, you can always request a FREE consultation with The Busy Bee Virtual Assistant.

Consultations are available in person for the Capital District. For all other locations, consultations will be conducted via Telephone, Zoom, and/or other Internet Communication Services.
